Provides population information, demographic profiles of state offenders and individuals under Probation and Parole supervision, budget information, and recidivism rates among other things.
This link provides statistical information on the nine regional management areas as defined by Louisiana DPS&C. The location and state offender capacity/population for each state correctional facility, Probation and Parole District, parish and private jails holding state offenders, and Transitional Work Programs. The maps also detail 10-year population comparisons (2000 and 2010) of those in DOC custody as well as the parish general population.
Requests to purchase offender records:
Under Louisiana law, particularly the provisions of R.S. 15:574.12, the records of offenders, past, present, or future, in the custody of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Corrections Services, is confidential and cannot be disclosed, directly or indirectly, to anyone. This is not to say that some information, in the hands of another state agency or subdivision of the state, is not available, but pursuant to state law, while held by this Department it is confidential.
Consequently, we are unable to accommodate any request for any kind of data sharing on any terms.
